Principle Carla Porter L.I.D.T.A and L.I.S.T.D

Runner up teacher of the year 2010!

Carla started Freestyle Dancing at the very young age of 4 years old. Throughout her childhood she trained extensively in many dance styles such as Jazz, Modern, Ballet and Tap and went on to compete in many Freestyle competitions around the UK winning many titles including Southern Area County Champion, Thames Valley Champion, West Sussex County Champion and Champion of Champions to name a few.

In 2002 Carla became one of the talented students out of hundreds of applicants to be awarded a Dance and Drama Scholarship Award (DADA) to attend the well renowned Stella Mann Performing Arts College. It was during her 3 years there that she was trained by some of the top professionals within the industry and performed in many dance productions such as Pippin, Chorus Line, Cabaret, Leap, Seven, Hairspray...

In 2005 Carla graduated from Stella Mann achieving a Professional National Diploma in Dance/Musical Theatre awarded by Trinity and since then now holds a licentiate qualification with the I.D.T.A. In addition Carla is a member of the Association of Dance Freestyle Professionals (ADFP) and is currently a Freestyle championship adjudicator.

Carla has represented the I.D.T.A both in the UK and internationally. She is currently a teacher trainer in the Southern area too.

In the last 3 years Carla has also choreographed productions for Hairspray, Wizard of Oz, Wicked, Cats, Hello Dolly, Calamity Jane, Greese and Jungle Book! To name a few..

Carla is a full time dance teacher currently teaching at Rox School of Dance and Drama, as well as running her own successful Freestyle school. Suffice to say that she is busy busy but wouldn't have it any other way!

All staff have been CRB checked and currently hold first aid certificates.

Kirtsy Harper

It gives me great pleasure to welcome on board a new Premier teacher Miss Kirsty Harper! Kirsty has recently just become qualified A.I.D.T.A gaining an amazing 96% mark in her teaching examination. She currently applying to become a member on the ADFP to which will then lead to Kirsty becoming an adjudicator in 6 months time.Kirsty was a former championship dancer of mine who won many championship titles with her dance partner Will.

With the school getting bigger and bigger I am delighted to have Kirsty on board with me. I would like to wish her every success and happiness teaching here at Premier.
